Sam started with clay by taking evening classes here and there for a few years. She finally landed at Mud where she was able to take weekend classes to really learn the basics. She learned all of that and more at Mud!
Clay gives Sam the satisfaction of making something functional and beautiful. The feel of a finished pot, the roughness of the bare clay and the smoothness of the glaze continually draw Sam to clay. And Sam loves that when she throws, she gets completely lost in what she’s doing and time stands still. “I’m not sure I have a style yet. I am learning, improving my technique and experimenting with every pot I throw.”
Sam finds the clay community to be supportive, offering advice and feedback with no judgment. She hopes that through her teaching, she can share her love of pottery and help new members improve their technique and become more confident in their ability while unleashing their artistic side.
